Cerberus has been acting as the official representative for Privateer Press for years. The relationship started with Matt Wilson, the Founder and owner of Privateer Press, and myself, when we met as colleagues at Wizards of the Coast. Soon after Matt founded Privateer, together we formalized a deal where Cerberus would act as Privateer's metal miniatures production and marketing arm servicing the European community. Over the years Privateer has introduced plastic miniatures made in China, or have created high-quality resin miniatures manufactured in their Seattle factory, which Cerberus imported into the UK for distribution. It was never Cerberus' intention to act as a distributor of Privateer miniatures, but as a manufacturer of Privateer miniatures, to supply them at a reasonable price to the European community, but that is where we ended up.

I recently founded a new company called Trans Atlantis Games. Trans Atlantis Games' first offering is a range of hobby paints, called Two Thin Coats, that we have collaborated with the Duncan Rhodes Painting Academy, where the Academy has formulated the paints that Trans Atlantis will distribute and market world-wide. We'll also be creating games with a strong miniatures element. As I am also overseeing the creation of new products in the same space as the Privateer products, it was decided that Privateer will not renew the contract, so the long-term relationship between Privateer and Cerberus will end.

On December 31, 2021 our relationship with Privateer ends. Cerberus can still sell off our remaining imported Privateer products beyond this date, but any metal miniatures we have been manufacturing will no longer be available from Cerberus and will need to be imported from Privateer, or through one of their European distributors.

I have attached our most recent product list to this notice. The items marked as imports, which I have highlighted, are the items we can still sell from our present inventory after the contract ends on December 31st. After December 31st, all other non-highlighted items (metal miniatures produced in Liverpool) must be sourced elsewhere, either from Privateer directly in the USA or one of their assigned distributors.

It has been fantastic being associated with Privateer all of these years, and being part of this community. Hopefully many of us will still be in contact in the future, be it as a business relationship, or as friends.

Cóż, jest wiele małych firm, które podtrzymują swoje produkty na rynku. Warmachine może się właśnie takim stać, niekoniecznie musi całkowicie sczeznąć. Bardziej to zależy od środowiska, choć oczywiście niedostępność modeli, brak aktualnych kart itd. to bardzo problematyczna sprawa. Trzeba spojrzeć jak sobie z tym radzi np the 9th Age.

Nie można wszystkiego od razu skreślać. Może znajdą sobie lepszego dystrybutora na Europę

Tbh Cerberus to był straszny straszny syf do współpracy dla sklepów a i metalowe modele sa dużo gorszej jakości. Więc dla mnie to good news.

Cerberus to nigdy nie był dystrybutor dla sklepów tylko fabryka dla dystrybutorów. To wina ciulatej dystrybucji ze sklepy musiały sie zaopatrywać w fabryce...
Dla mnie od zawsze metale były dużo lepszej jakości niż plastikowe nadmuchańce i żywiczne fuckapy bez detali w goofy style.

Jak dla mnie, jeżeli idzie o modele PP to:

Nowe metale > żywica > sporadyczne modele z twardego plastiku z wyprasek > długo nic > stare metale > bardzo długo nic > ch... plastik ...

Dyskusja plastiki/metale to osobna sprawa i bardzo osobista preferencja
Lubię plastik od GW i część modeli PP odlanych w chinach też z tego jest zrobiona i dla mnie to cudeńko, metale na drugim miejscu a reszta to szkoda gadać xd

Trzeba być dobrej myśli jak QC

Akurat żywica od PP poza tym, że czasem ma twardość misia haribo i zostają odciski palców na niej to jakość detali jest niezła. Zgłosiłem do nich kiedyś problem z modelem, który wyglądał na totalnie rozmyty bez widocznych szczegółów, ale odpisali, że po nałożeniu podkładu to wrażenie zniknie i tak na szczęście było. Ta lekko przezroczysta żywica niestety potrafi tak zmylić, to samo mam za każdym razem jak odbieram modele z druku 3d. Po pomalowaniu okazuje się, że jakość samego odlewu jest bdb, tak samo jak tych nowych metali, a do tego ta żywica nie jest taka krucha i łamliwa jak finecast GW czy u innych producentów. Niestety to dalej dużo gorszy materiał niż plastik GW, a cenią się model-per-model znacznie drożej...

PVC aka plastik PP (ten pakowany w torebki, nie na wypraskach) to jest kaszana po całości, jakość jak z gier planszowych gdzie za 300zł dostaje się tych modeli pełne pudła.

... a tak trochę zbaczając z tematu, ale w duchu beki z PP to zajebisty jest fenomen ich pakowania modeli i wydziału missing parts. Generalnie od dłuższego czasu przy zakupie modeli bezpośrednio od nich częściej czegoś brakowało niż były kompletne, absolutny dramat. Temat był poruszany notorycznie na ich grupie facebookowej, aż w końcu przejęli administrację i zaczęli kasować posty i ew. banować/wyciszać ludzi, żeby zapanować nad PR. Nie bardzo potrafię znaleźć wyjaśnienie czemu tak się działo poza tym, że musieli aż tak źle płacić tym pracownikom, że mają kompletnie wywalone na pakowanie, albo celowo pakują wybrakowane modele. Missing parts kosztami wysyłek na cały świat musiał generować duże i niepotrzebne straty.

Tak ten missing parts zawsze mnie zastanawiał

Jest nadzieja z tym Mythic Games, oni są z tego co mi się wydaje EU based i zajmują się też produkcją? Kickstarter może być testowaniem współpracy.

Panowie, a tak z ciekawości - co w praktyce oznacza rezygnacja przez PP z metalowych modeli? Co z modelami typu Kell, Alten, Gobber itp? Z czasem znikną, zostaną zastąpione plastikowymi wersjami czy co?

Nie. PP nie rezygnuje z metalu. Przestaje odlewac u kogoś innego, zostaję przy odlewaniu u siebie.
